Steve Holmes from Layers Magazine walks us through animating rain shadows in a hallway being cast from an outside light source. Making use of live action footage, lighting and color correction, Steve takes this animation to the next level.
(I’ve already commented the same on the layersmagazine.com page of this tutorial [http://www.layersmagazine.com/animate-rain-shadows-in-after-effects.html/comment-page-1#comment-45158 ], just pasting it here again)
MISTAKE – There seems to be a mistake in the scene – the reflection/drops’ shadows on the interior walls should be in opposite direction i.e, the flow of drops are falling from top to bottom normally as it would appear, but in reality the flow of shadows would appear in the opposite direction on the roof and diagonally on the side walls. Except for this the sense of realism only lies in the texture and the light shaft; pl. reply to support this explanation.
